Low Key Arts in cooperation with National Park Service, Visit Hot Springs and Northwoods Trails presents Notes in Nature Ranger-Guided Trail Concert Series, a new program of free outdoor performances beginning summer 2021. Featuring intimate music coupled with invigorating hikes and a wealth of forest facts presented by a genuine National Park ranger, it's hard to imagine a better way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of beautiful Hot Springs National Park. Hikes are approximately one hour in length, with performances running between 60 and 90 minutes. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to take part.

Notes in Nature Ranger-Guided Trail Concert Series kicks off Sunday, May 16, 2021 with a performance by longtime Hot Springs favorite, Brian Martin, who passes through town often both solo and as a member of the band, Sad Daddy. The 1.3 mile ranger-guided hike begins at 1:00 PM at Pullman Trailhead. Plenty of free parking is available near the trailhead.

Brian Martin will perform an acoustic set live at 2:00 PM at Bethel Lake. The hike to Bethel Lake from Pullman Trailhead is optional and can be avoided by simply driving to Bethel Lake and parking at the Northwoods Trail lot here.

This summer, our Inception to Projection Filmmaking Program (June 1-July 2, 2021) will focus on writing sketch comedy. Every participant will write and produce a video of their own original three minute comedic sketch. Final videos will screen at a special screening hosted by Low Key Arts in June, as well as at Arkansas Shorts in January 2022.

Production lecture classes are spent learning filmmaking fundamentals such as directing, producing, casting, cinematography and editing. Participants are expected to work on small crews for one another, giving each filmmaker an opportunity not only to write and direct their own sketch but also practice production roles such as cinematographer, producer, first assistant director, sound recorder or production designer.
